Insight-Led Positioning and Distinction
FEENEY began by conducting desktop research and a deep competitive analysis to understand Buzz Honey’s place in a crowded retail category.
The findings highlighted the need to strengthen positioning and create brand distinction where the product itself, hidden inside packaging, could not speak for itself. From almonds to orange blossoms, summer meadows to native bushland, the solution was a visual identity system rooted in South Australia’s diverse landscapes.
Each honey variety was given its own symbolic design cue, reflecting origin and flavour, while packaging carried clear, confident messaging that elevated Buzz Honey as a premium, family-owned producer. The result: a more substantial shelf presence and a recognisable identity both in-store and beyond.

Moving beyond product, FEENEY reimagined Buzz Honey’s narrative to capture the heart and soul of the brand. Through anecdotal, relaxed storytelling and video production, the love this small family business has for its bees was brought to life.
Following the rhythm of the seasons, from the towering gums and cool valleys of the Adelaide Hills to the sunlit, orange-blossomed Riverland, the story showcased the passion and care behind every drop of honey.
This humanised approach gave the brand more than a product to sell; it gave it a story to share, building emotional connection and loyalty among consumers seeking authenticity and provenance.
