Lessons In Business. #Decisions
Indecisiveness can kill a business.
An indecisive business stifles operations and growth whether its marketing campaigns or hiring new resources.
Over my 25 years I’ve seen heads of companies become so caught up in the anxiety of making the right decision they fail to decide at all, endlessly weighing the same options over and over again. So afraid of making the wrong decision they mistakenly take comfort in the safety of not making a decision at all. Instead, they continue to look for new information in an futile attempt to put off the inevitable.
Whatsmore an indecisive leader develops a systemic indecisive culture! As a young executive working for Procter and Gamble in the early 90’s, I was lucky enough to spend the day with the CEO Australia and NZ and he told me one key piece of advice
“Any decision is better than none.”
Something I still abide by today.
